According Asus's design, smartphone is the main body of Padphone. When it works on smartphone, the user interface is mobile phone. When smartphone docks inside the tablet, the user interface is tablet pc in the bigger screen. Smartphone is the core, tablet pc is just a screen with speaker, I/O connector and battery, tablet pc is without CPU, so smartphone have to play the role of CPU. Considering the current Android OS system, Asus have to install two different version in the smartphone -- Android 2.3 and 3.0. However, as we all know, 3.0 Honeycomb couldn't work with smartphone.

However, Asus deny above opinion. Benson Lin said, actually, this device will be released until Christmas and it will come with the latest Android OS. But they don't recognize Padphone have to wait until Google develop Ice Cream Sandwich.
Next version of Android -- Ice Cream Sandwich will integrate Honeycomb and Gingerbread, therefore, will integrate smartphone and tablet pc. It has two different user interface, which is consistent with Asus Padphone design concepts, one system with two experience.
If Asus want to launch the real Padphone (no Dummy), it all depends on Google.
